My Pixie Life

I don't like to post photos of myself but my friend Helena wanted me to blog about this so she could see my hair, so this is for you babycakes!

I cut my hair real short a few weeks back. Pretty much all my life I've had long hair, I was born with lots of hair grew it out to my bottom but when I came to Australia I chopped it off to my shoulders (I was about 5). I think it grew out a bit then when I was 6 I thought my sister's friend was so pretty and she had hair bluntly cut to her chin. So I had my mom cut it the same way and lol it looked it really bad on me because my hair would fluff out to the shape of a triangle. From there I just grew it out and it was always roughly between my shoulders and half way down my back. I don't think I ever grew it down my bum again. About 4 years ago I cut it pretty short so it was in a bob kind of style but I hated it and grew it out. Lately I've had hair sitting above my shoulders and then grew it a bit past my shoulders. And then I decided to do what I've always wanted to do - get a Mia Farrow pixie cut.

I was always too chicken to go this short because I thought it would make me look like a boy since I don't have any overly girly features. But I really like...except it's a pain to style. So when I'm at home and don't need to go anywhere, I don't style it and it looks so funny! Right now the front is sticking up and there's a little piece that is hanging across my forehead...but no photos, no need to embarrass myself :)

The photos were edited with a little program called Poladroid. It's so awesome. I love polaroids and the program can change the way you want the photo to be processed. The first photo I left it on default and the second one I had it processed with a paper finish so that's why there are fingermarks on it. Go download it and have fun, it's free!

Happy Easter Y'all!

I hope everyone has had a nice relaxing Easter :) I spent the day eating chocolate, watching a movie (The Village, I had seen it before but my sister hadn't), doing some uni work and surfing the net as per usual.

Yesterday I finished the Easter cards I made for my cousin's children! I just suddenly got a burst of energy and stayed up til 1am finishing these.

First up is the card for the little baby

What could be inside the egg??

A little baby chick of course!

And for the little madam, a basket of goodies...

but look! Somebody is hiding, is it a bunny?

eastercard8eastercard9

No! It's a pony pretending to be a bunny!

And for the little man of the family, he too gets a basket of goodies...

eastercard4

But I have a feeling it's not a bunny that is hiding in there...

eastercard5eastercard6

Why it's a dinosaur pretending to be a bunny!

I hope the kids like the cards, the package will also include chocolates for the elder two and a pair of super cute yellow terry towelling bloomers for the baby! They'll be a little late but it will be a nice surprise for them :)

Unwrapped Goodie Haul

I picked a few things from the market that I absolutely adore! First up is a little bag of awesome from the stall Made of Awesome, it was run by several graphic designers (who I graduated with from uni!).

The bag is designed by Janice Law of little miso. I love it to death! I have a thing for brown paper bags and this one is just perfect.

I picked up the cutest little card but I don't remember who made it! Me and my crappy memory...

Also I picked up an art print with a kitten and a duckling on it by Sheryl Derilo! Just crazy cute, how could I not buy it?

And then at another stall called Little Mo and Friends run by my ever so wonderful and talented buddy, Helena, I treated myself to one of her letter sets (featuring cats, my all time favourite animal) and a little set of gift tags. She was a doll and popped in a free strip of stickers for me! Isn't the little brown bag she created to put the goodies into so cute?

Unwrapped Overview

Eek again I'm so late with the updating but I have a valid reason this time! I got sick and had to go to hospital for surgery and then once I was discharged the antibiotics they gave me made me violently sick and so I had to go back to the emergency room. But I feel much better now and am able to sit at my computer for short periods of time...hopefully my concentration will be back soon so I can tackle my uni work!

So on with the report of Unwrapped:
Unwrapped 2009 South Perth

So that's me up there ugh. Helena posted this on her blog (since she was the one that took the photo) so I guess I'll post it here too even though I don't like exposing my face on the internet. I've become much better at doing my displays! Still not all that happy about it, but the market went quite well. Not as well as I wanted but better than any other market I have done. I think for the next market I want to start phasing out most of my stuff and take things in a slightly different direction. Although I like the children's stuff I think I'm forcing it a little and pigeon holing myself a tad.

It was fun looking around at the other people's stall, there were a lot I hadn't seen and I even saw a couple of uni friends there selling their stuff! I picked up a couple of things, I'll show you in the next post (which hopefully won't be too far in the future!). I even bumped into a previous uni lecturer with her cute cute baby and a few people I recognised from uni. I also saw so many cute dogs I kept squealing every 5 minutes!

Once I'm feeling better I promise new art! I have it all inked I just need to paint it, so I'll show it soon my pretties...only thing is it will be out of date because it is Easter related, oh well!
