Life in the Aviary Necklaces

It sure has been a while since I've shown you new products! I've got a huge update in the works and I'll be putting up all my jewellery onto the online shop so that those of you who either don't live in Perth or don't get a chance to come to markets, will be able to see and hopefully purchase my work :)

A new series that I've been working on since last November (oh my gosh really?! Time sure has flown!), is called "Life in the Aviary" and is inspired by my childhood memories of listening to my sister's birds singing outside my bedroom window. She had a large variety of birds over the years and I've featured them all except the canary and pigeon we didn't have but I would have liked to!

I have a thing for lockets, always have and always will, and I have no idea why. Maybe it's because you can hide away a little part of yourself or someone else in a tiny space? Whatever the reason, lockets are the bees knees.

I know everyone seems to have a thing for birds these days, but whatever, I love them too and these charms were too sweet to pass up. And the little bell charm is my new favourite thing!

So this is what I have been busy with for the past month or so : making jewellery! I've been building up a new little brand which I have named "eeva margita" (forgive me if I've already mentioned this...). The name is a combination of my mother's and my middle names. I've done this because I've been using photos of my mother from the 70's as inspiration and then throwing in a little bit of me for good measure.

You should put a ring on it

Remember those little fabric covered buttons? I turned some of them into sweet little rings! Aah I love the look of these, like tiny pincushions. And I think they look awfully cute stacked in twos or threes :)
